The Singles Nite Life Party began in 1997 and was then known as "Single Hearts... A Dance For
Singles". It became an instant success when, after only four weeks, weekly attendance had hit
150 and continued to climb over the next several months. With such early success, the patio was
opened in the summer of 1998 and the legendary Single Hearts Patio Party Season was born.
Since that time, most of the top bands in mid-Michigan performed on the Hawk Hollow patio
overlooking private Hawk Lake while the DJs continued to rock the crowd inside.
Special costume events began in the Fall of 1999 with themes like "Wild West", "Hippie Daze",
"Oscar's Night" and many more! Costume events were also an instant success and that gave way to
what is still the biggest and best all-singles Halloween costume party anywhere.

After several years (in 2002 to be exact) the original co-founder, Norm Viaches, met Theresa at
the Single Hearts annual December Holiday Party and they soon married. After their marriage,
they both agreed that their mutual love for the party and all of the friends they had made while
hosting the party made it impossible to do anything except continue the event.

In 2007 the "dance" had become such a party that it was decided to give the event a more
appropriate name and it became the "Single Hearts - Singles Nite Life Party". The party continues
to keep things fresh and exciting with an ever-changing venue... where you never know what's
coming next.
